• What address should I use on my COI?

• What files are required in order to submit an application for a film permit?

  In addition to filling out the online permit, please upload the following:

  • Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming City of Santa Fe or Santa Fe County
  • Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the property
  • Site Plan to include base camp, crew parking, etc.
  • Traffic Control Plan (if applicable)
  • Location Agreements signed by both parties
  • Acknowledgment Agreement (County)
  • Indemnification Agreement (County)
  • Dismantle Agreement (County)
  • Indemnification Agreement (City)
  
  

  Permits cannot be approved without these documents uploaded.

• What guidelines should I follow to facilitate permit approval?

  The Film Office will generally approve film permits within the following guidelines:

  • Standard Hours: In residential and commercial areas, standard filming hours during Monday to Friday are from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. On weekends (Saturday and Sunday), 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
  • Late Hours: Notification is required for all activity performed outside of standard filming hours, whether for filming, prep, or strike.
  • All surrounding businesses and/or residences are to be notified in writing that production will be occurring. The notification letter must specify; date(s), time(s), and on site contacts. The notification letter must be distributed no later than 48 hours prior to production and a copy of the letter and those contacted must be uploaded to the film permit.
  • Firearms & Special Effects: In addition to obtaining a film permit, the brandishing or discharge of prop weapons and pyrotechnic effects does require notification of surrounding areas. Important: live ammunition is never allowed on film sets in the Santa Fe region.
  • Aerial Filming Activity: The use of helicopters, drones, or other aircraft for filming purposes must permit through the film office.
  • Intermittent Traffic Control: must upload a certified traffic control plan to the film permit. Local law enforcement is to handle all traffic holds on public streets.
  • All City and County ordinances are to be observed unless an exemption is specifically stated on the film permit application and approved.
